What If . . .?

. . . you knew someone who could swap out the parts of your life that really suck, swap them out for the exact opposite!

You know, the parts of your life you try and keep well hidden – they’re a bit embarrassing, or . . . a lot embarrassing!

Wouldn’t that be incredible!

Some of us smile really well – but underneath there’s a lurking sadness that just doesn’t explain itself very well.  Or you’ve lost a friend or family member to a tragedy  , it was quite a while back, but your heart still hurts.

Some of us really want to be happy, you know, the life of the party, but there’s something holding you back, holding you down . . . weighty. Stealing your joy.

What If - new culture

And then there are some of us that feel like there’s an invisible mobile cage around our being – and we can’t find the key to breaking out of that dark prison.

Some of us just feel ugly, both inside and out – no matter what people say – we just feel ugly.  Or unspeakable shame for some reason, known or unknown.

Or we’re simply petrified of anything and everything and have tried so hard to create a lifestyle that doesn’t look like we are.  Big and bold and bright . . . but it aint working on the inside!

We can be so encumbered with all or some of this that we feel we couldn’t build a life no matter what!

Wouldn’t it be amazing to meet someone who could change all that in your heart and life?

Read this . . . . this is the passage He read out when He first hit church!

Isaiah 61 (NIV)

61 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,[a]
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,
and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.  They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.

They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations.
Strangers will shepherd your flocks; foreigners will work your fields and vineyards.
And you will be called priests of the Lord, you will be named ministers of our God.  You will feed on the wealth of nations, and in their riches you will boast.

Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance.
And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.

Who’s He?  Why this is Jesus.  And this is the Gospel . For you and for me!

If you want to meet Him contact me.  I’m quite good with introductions.

He seriously is amazing!
