Attitude – golden or stinky.

Pastor Phil Pringle tweeted this week;  “The problem is never the problem; the real problem is our attitude towards it.”

“Your attitude will determine your outcome.”

So true . . .

I see people stumble and fall into the same unforgiving sink hole time and time again – and I know what takes them to the edge and throws them down the hole.  The hole is named “bad outcome!”

Attitude - new culture

I know, because I have been that person from time to time.

When life starts to get big the issues that must be dealt with get bigger too.  But for some reason many of us are more trained in a “reactionary” way (read: blame, stomp, yell, cuss someone out, get depressed, or angry etc) of doing life, than a “let’s get this problem sorted.”

If we grab the latter as quick as possible, when some kind of IED is heading our way in life, we’ll so more easily turn to God and say that “help me out here please God” type prayer – He loves that one, He can’t wait for it – He’ll be right there, you got a friend (thank you James Taylor) – true story.  He’ll flood your life with peace and Grace, that’ll go a long way to putting out those internal fires of offense and being incensed – just for starters – and that position is way more conducive to wisdom arriving – I don’t see wisdom and anger/yelling/stomping ever co-existing well, they just don’t.  Wisdom just won’t land in those circumstances.

2 Corinthians 10:5  (NKJV)

casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

The heart and mind quickly follow the person that is looking to God for the answer –plus while we’re looking to God, we’re not going ballistic at someone – wrecking hearts, lives and opportunities.

If there’s a problem, don’t react to the problem in any other way until you’ve turned to God.  Even if you think you’ve got it down, turn to God first – then walk and trust that the steps of a good man/woman are in fact “ordered by the Lord”

So many have said “your attitude determines your altitude” – I don’t doubt it one bit!

God is the Almighty Leveler of hearts!

God is amazing!
