I am always in need of more courage – in this life we’ll get run over very fast if we “sit down” on the inside.

“Sit down” might have a slightly different language in your life – it might mean give up, quit, lose hope, lose faith, slapped down, suffer injustice, paralyzed with fear etc etc.

But if we stay sitting down whatever has hit us has won.  AND will keep winning.

The Giants have won – I don’t read that in the Word.

God said to and through Joshua . . . a brand new leader, Moses gone and a few million people looking at him – pretty much forty jaded years of the promises of God written all over their faces, probably all murmuring “what the heck Joshua” . . .

Joshua 1:9 (NIV)     COURAGE - new culture

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Joshua followed up with a few “you will” statements.

  •    You will prepare
  •    You will cross your Jordan (in three days)
  •    You will get control of the land (the dream, the promise) God has prepared for you!

Awesome words . . .

Stand up, grab your stuff, trust God (in the waiting), move, get inheritance!  BAM!

Without saying it – he has said “DON’T SIT DOWN.”

Phil Pringle’s tweet that arrived in my phone this morning is awesome!

“Courage is the defining difference between those who achieve greatness and those who don’t”

Joshua’s secret wasn’t just in pumping up the peeps, it was these 3 important factors . . .

Joshua 3:3-4  (NIV)

giving orders to the people: “When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the Levitical priests carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it. Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before.

  1. So keep the Presence and Lordship out the front of your life – the word says “in the anointing you will know all things!”  You haven’t seen this before, it’s new, keep your ear on God!
  1. Clean up your accounts with God . . .

Joshua 3:5 (NIV)

Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.”

  1. Prophesying to the people and himself!

So get ready for the amazing!!

Yeah it takes Courage – and partnering with God’s Presence.

This walk is supernatural – never forget it.

God is amazing!
