To Fear or Not To Fear – that is the question!

I just went through a great discussion about the “Fear of The Lord”

And . . . due to some of our harsh “religious” backgrounds we may have this pretty screwed up in our thinking.

Let’s look at these scriptures    fear of god

Proverbs 1:7 (NIV)

7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
    but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 9:10 (NIV)

10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
    and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Psalm 111:10 (NIV)

10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
    all who follow his precepts have good understanding.
    To him belongs eternal praise.

They all add up to . . . to fear the Lord is to no want the life generated by our own selfish decisions that go against what He has designed for us – a great, a powerful and increasing life for us.

God is always chatting away to us about making great decisions that reflect His Heart towards us (His precepts) – because in doing that another “God Play” enters our life stage . . . He will satisfy the desires of our hearts.

He knows the way to completely build that “satisfied” and “fulfilled” life in us – to make us unstoppable, to fill us with joy, even when the rotaters rotate and the poop is flying.

Go ahead! Fear being away from Him, fear being out of earshot of His still small voice, fear being outside of that custom designed amazing path, fear the consequences and awful harvest of doing life outside of His goodness, empowerment and counsel . . . because that will bring wisdom beyond measure into our lives!  AMEN!

BAM!

God is amazing!
