Jesus hangs out with prostitute and sinners.

Jesus hangs out with prostitute and sinners.  There, I said it again!

Jesus hung out with people the church would not like to see their Messiah hang out with.  So here’s a question – what’s so different between the church now and the church of Jesus time that eventually plotted to take Him out.

Luke 7:38 (NIV)new wine - main_wine

As she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them.

Matthew 11:19 (NKJV)

The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is justified by her children.”

. . . again what’s the difference between the church now (that seems to have such a condemning voice) and the church then that condemned Jesus for His company and drinking wine?

The difference has to be us!

When someone looks at their old WWJD wrist band thingie – this is what Jesus did.

He did not judge and discriminate – He made it possible for anyone and everyone to come near Him  Once we’re near Him, that nearness begins the journey of sorting out our stuff.

The difference has to be us!!!  The wisdom of welcoming everyone to be near Jesus is the “wisdom” mention in the Matthew scripture – and we are the children!

God is amazing!
