Same God – different contract – same monster results!

In Deuteronomy (OT) Moses said carefully follow the terms of the contract God had just laid out and . . . monster results!

Deuteronomy 29:9 (NIV)

Carefully follow the terms of this covenant, so that you may prosper in everything you do.

Jesus said in John (NT)  Whoever follows me . . . monster results!

John 8:12 (NIV)

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

What’s the difference?

In the Old Testament under Moses, there were huge requzurbaran-agnus-dei-lamb-of-god-madrid-1339x800irements of sacrifices to lift sin (can I use that word today – apparently it’s not PC!!!) and bondage off the people of God when they blew it attempting to follow the terms and follow God’s way.  However once Jesus came, He fulfilled ALL and I mean ALL of those sacrifice requirements, by being the ultimate sacrifice, and voila a new contract has been put in place.

Follow Moses Contract from God – monster results!

Follow Jesus Contract – Monster results – just no dead animals & no blood if you have a wee fumble along the way!

I like the Jesus one!  It feels kinda . . . well . . . Graceful!

God is amazing!
