What fills a Vacuum? Turn the Light On!

News Media themes today are commonly filled with instances of weird “vacuums” existing and them getting filled with bad / destructive  stuff and people groups – with agendas that make us gasp for clean air.

A large part of ISIL methodology is based upon flooding quickly into a vacuum and taking over.  The vacuum was created (arguably) by the absence of Troop existence and solidarity in Iraq – in Syria, the vacuum left by horrific civil war that rolls on and on leaving the nation mostly ungoverned – in the Kurdish areas in and around Northern Iraq, the vacuum is left by a lack government embrace and inclusion.

The vacuum is filled by crushing evil – innocent people get displaced, their sense of home shattered, then they get killed or raped in the hundreds, if not the thousands or tens of thousands.

The tactics of evil are revealed.  What can we learn?

First we have to check what we believe.  Why is that?

Because I have the overall impression that most people believe that evil is simply the absence of good.  A zero point on the graph of good.  Wrong!  It is the point of vacuum!

Christians, in our safety and coolness and our “Positive Mental Attitude” churches have tended to stop talking about the Devil – like, if we don’t talk about him he doesn’t really exist – right?

Evil is a power, it’s strong, it’s pitch-black dark, it thinks, it plans, it manipulates and motivates, while spreading chaos, it squats in peoples souls  –  to do three things –Steal, Kill and Destroy.

How do we combat this?  By intellectual debate?  Heck no!  You can’t reprogram evil!

By The Power of The Holy Ghost!  Ignore The Holy Ghost and you’re dancing to the tune of the vacuum.  Get to know Him, get filled by Him, be led by Him – everything changes!

Take up every available space!  Leave no vacuum!  Turn the light on!
