Posture and Position – Good Soil / Bad Soil

Jesus’ parable of the seed is all about your position and your posture.

Matthew 13:4-8  (NKJV)

4 And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them. 5 Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth; and they immediately sprang up because they had no depth of earth. 6 But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away. 7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them. 8 But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

Bad Posture: I’ve got everything together, I just need to go to church, punch the clock, show my face, shake some hands, see ya later.

Good Posture: I’m bringing my entire life into His Throne Room, I want it wet with His Presence, His Counsel, His Word, His Joy, His Strength, His Wisdom, His Navigation not mine.  I can’t wait.

Bad Position: I’ve got enough of God, I don’t want to be a fanatic for goodness sake!  Some people just go too far (shallow soil).

Bad Position: I’m only here for a small while, I’ve got my eyes on that big church, much more potential for my multi-level marketing networking, I’ll hang around the edges, look like I’m “into” everything (wayside soil!).

Bad Position: I’m going to dig into the controversial edges of Christian doctrine and build an opinion that will shock and impress everyone, I’ll get noticed then (thorny soil).

Great Position:  C’mon God, bring it on, build me up, fill me up, You are awesome!  I want to walk in this.  I want to be a Spirit-filled Man/Woman of God – YES! (great soil!)

God is amazing!!!
