Grow Like A Tree, Not A Grapevine.

God talked to Ezekiel, comparing vine wood to tree wood.

Ezekiel 15: 2 “Son of man, how does a grapevine compare to a tree? Is a vine’s wood as useful as the wood of a tree? 3 Can its wood be used for making things, like pegs to hang up pots and pans? 4 No, it can only be used for fuel, and even as fuel, it burns too quickly.

God then compared the people of Jerusalem to the grapevine wood.

Today it can be similar, Christianity follows this fad, follows that fad, follows the roller coaster flip flop of political craziness, jumps from Church to Church, mega this to epic  that – like a grapevine wending it’s way through the forest of life.

Catching on fire here, then going out, catching on fire again somewhere else, then going out again – repeat then rinse . . . etc etc

God cannot place anything long-term or worthwhile (vs 3) on the shoulders of people that keep moving all over the place.  The kingdom doesn’t get built, people just have short term experiences and some of them aren’t that great either.

So . . . No – stop it!  (Bob Newhart fans!)

Dig in, stay in faith, read the word (meaningfully), worship Him, spend time with Him, find out who He is so you will trust Him entirely.  You will know if you’re in the wrong church, weird place, goofy fad, faithless mind-set etc.

Grow straight up!  Be that Cedar, be that redwood!

Trust God.

God is amazing!!!
