What Keeps Me Away From Church?  I Want It All!

church door ID-100152382

Scenario: After some crazy apocalyptic occurrence on planet earth and it seems that I might be one of the last people on the planet, would I be found at the door of church for the 10:30AM service wanting to get in?

Well would I?  Would you?

What keeps us away from the “gathering to worship?”  What gets in the way?  What do we allow to get in the way?  Do we choose something else over getting into the Big House?

What floats to the top of the totem to keep us away from meeting with God in His House?  I hear some say, you dont need to go to church to meet with God.  True!  But the scripture below never unfolds fully unless you do.  I want it ALL!  He died to make this happen!

The following scripture breathes the whole picture of coming before God, with others . . . church.  Having our faith assured (being strengthened), being cleansed, sprinkled and washed (our total beings  need to be freed from dark thoughts and selfish motivations building up).  And so much more.

Hebrews 10:19-25                            New King James Version (NKJV)

19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

I want His Presence, I want what happens when we gather together, I want everything and I am going to fight anything that keeps me out of this – because this “Gathering Experience” is probably the biggest experience I can get and I can get it every week if I hack away the vines and bright shiny moving objects that try to stop me.

Verse 19: says “having the boldness” – meaning, it’s going to take some effort.  Bold people don’t do the mundane.  The mundane wont achieve anything but more mundane.

Join with me and shout “I want it ALL!”

See you in church!

God is amazing!!!
