What Does Your Voice Sound Like?

I think we Christians have a really loud voice, but mostly it’s saying the wrong things.

Look at this . . .

OK we know the first bit

 

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone,  the new has come!

 

But read on my friends!

 

2 Corinthians 5:18 – 19 (NIV) All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:  that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

 

The voice we are mostly known for is “judgment.”  Harsh judgment sometimes, or even a lot!  Aren’t we known as the “holier than thou” crew?  We’ve got to stop that!

 

Let’s think about this scripture – just a bit.

We have been given a job, it’s called reconciliation!  He calls it a “ministry” – nice!   He kinda repeats Himself and says He has committed this message to us.  Got it, ok. Where do we start?

 

Well, where did God start with this ministry through Jesus?

 

He started with . . . “for God so LOVED the world . . .” right!

He didn’t send Jesus down to talk individually to people to remind them of their  dirty stinking dark sin right?  (not counting men’s sin against them – from the scripture above).

 

I think we need a do-over right!

 

First: love.     Second: love and talk.     Third: love, talk and introduce!

Introduce our world, heart by heart, soul by soul, to the God of the “light yoke!”
